“Please supply boxed mugs” leaves several purchasing decisions open. Specify whether you need a standard individual box or branded packaging, what each box should contain and who will assemble the finished gift before requesting a quotation.
Start with how the gift will reach its recipient
Will the mugs be handed out at the office or an event, or will your team send them individually after receiving the order? Include that scenario in the brief. Describe the intended contents, such as a mug alone or a mug with a card you would like to add.
When comparing porcelain mugs and ceramic mugs, ask about box compatibility. Include any lid, handle or additional component in the assessment rather than assuming everything will fit from a photograph.
Compare standard and branded boxes on the same basis
The printing and packaging page describes individual kraft boxes and coloured coated-card boxes for custom orders. Confirm which option can be assessed for your selected model.
A standard box may meet your needs when the logo on the mug provides the presentation you want. If the box also needs to carry a campaign or corporate identity, request a separately defined branded-box alternative. Keep the mug, printing and contents consistent between options. Ask for differences to be stated clearly, including whether each option covers assembled gifts or empty boxes.
Assign responsibility for assembly
Include these questions in the request:
- Will each mug arrive placed inside its individual box?
- If a card is wanted, can insertion be assessed, and who supplies the card?
- Who prepares the box artwork, and which template should be used?
- Can the contents and arrangement be reviewed through a visual or sample, and under what conditions?
These are questions for the specific order. Do not assume card insertion, custom boxes or samples are available as a standard package for every model.
Specify onward shipping separately
Do not assume an individual gift box is suitable as a standalone shipping package. UPS’s packing guidance recommends wrapping items separately and using cushioning for fragile contents. Confirm the outer packaging and protection needed for your shipment with the selected carrier and whoever handles packing. General guidance does not verify a particular box or guarantee damage-free transport.
Request clearly defined options
Contact the team on WhatsApp with the model link, quantity, handout or onward-shipping plan and standard or branded box preference. Ask whether assembly, box printing and any additional contents are included in the proposed scope. Confirm the mug and packaging together before choosing.
